Holly-Hunter
Holly Hunter is a well-known American actress, producer and director. Her work has been recognized for films such as Broadcast News The Firm The Piano The Incredibles and The Incredibles. She won several awards including an Oscar for her role in the film Piano. The path to acting began with Broadway and she worked on a wide range of Broadway and Off Broadway productions. Acting has always been her love of life. In the fifth grade she portrayed Helen Keller. Mumps caused her to be blind and deaf in one ear. However, she refused to let that to hinder her ambitions of becoming an actress. She was a drama major at the college before moving away from Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania to New York City to follow her goals. Hunter made her Broadway debut through a chance encounter and Beth Henley, a playwright. The two worked together for Broadway Crimes of the Heart. After moving in Los Angeles, Hunter tried for film roles. An supporting role was secured in Swing Shift. Her appearances in television series, films and feature films throughout the course of her professional career. Holly Hunter has a Hollywood Walk of Fame actor and has won the Women in Film Lucy Award.
