Holly-Hunter

Holly Hunter was an American actress, who gained fame for the films Broadcast News The Firm The Piano The Incredibles. Her work has been recognized with many awards for her performance and has even won an Oscar. The path to acting began in Broadway through a myriad of Broadway as well as Off Broadway initiatives. It has always been her obsession. When she was in fifth grade, she was cast as Helen Keller in an original play. Following a bout of Mumps, she was blind on the other side of her ears. This did not stop her ambition to become an actor. While in college, she studied drama after which she relocated in New York City with her plans in mind. She ran into Beth Henley in an elevator and they worked together on Broadway Crimes of the Heart the first movie Hunter made. After moving into Los Angeles, Hunter tried to find movie roles. A supporting role was found for her in Swing Shift. In the years since, she has been in many shows and TV films in a long career that spans more than three decades. Holly Hunter was awarded a Hollywood Walk of Fame Star and the Women in Film Lucy Award.
